Rules & Guide

What is Euchre?

Euchre is a fast-paced, four-player trick-taking card game played in teams of two, commonly using a 24-card deck (9s through Aces). Players aim to win the majority of five tricks per hand after designating a trump suit. The first team to reach 10 points wins the game.

How to Play

  • Each player is dealt five cards.
  • The top card is turned face-up to suggest trump.
  • Players may order up the dealer or pass.
  • If all pass, players may name a different trump suit.
  • The player left of the dealer leads the first trick.
  • Players must follow suit if possible.
  • The highest trump or highest led suit wins the trick.
  • Makers score 1 point for 3–4 tricks.
  • Makers score 2 points for all 5 tricks.
  • If makers fail, defenders score 2 points (euchre).

Game Variants

  • Standard Euchre: 24-card deck, optional loner.
  • Canadian Loner: Ordering your partner (dealer) forces a loner.
  • 32/7 Euchre: 32-card deck, 7 cards per player.
  • Stick the Dealer: Dealer must choose trump if all pass.

Fair Play

  • Respect other players.
  • No cheating or collusion.
  • Game results are final.
  • Refunds only for verified system errors.
